… and this occurred to me:
As you might know, some of my work has a fishing bent. When describing the fishing industry as a whole, I’d say it’s male-dominated at the best of times and downright mysogynistically uncomfortable at the worst.

Twitter is a mecca for the disposable comment. It’s easy to get involved in what you think is a relatively private conversation and forget that you’re sitting in the online equivalent of a busy pub on a Friday night.

The three-ring-circus that is the school summer holidays has come to an end and we’re still recovering from having managed to take a good chunk of August ‘off’. Partly a lifestyle choice and partly through necessity, there’s a great deal of good to come from having some down-time. It gives us all perspective that you just can’t achieve when you’re nose to the grindstone 24/7, and for creative types that free thinking time makes for a head full of ideas just waiting to be capitalised on now.
